The Giovanni Manzone Estate is located in Monforte d’Alba (Piedmont), an area famous for its great wines. The winery, located app. 15 Km from Alba, 5 Km from Barolo, is a small family-run concern consisting of 8 hectares all planted with vineyards. The production is limited (40,000 bottles- 3,300 cases- per year are produced in average). All wine making is carried out by the Manzone family, in order to obtain natural and high quality wines. The passion for the wines arises from respect for nature and from the care and dedication for the work. The wines are netheir clarified nor filtered and are the true expression of their lands.

Grape varietal: 100% Nebbiolo. 

Zone: Le Gramolere Vineyard in Monforte d’Alba, Piedmont.

Period of harvest: first – second decade of October.

Vinification: maceration with the skins for 40 days at 28-31° C.

Ageing: in 700 litre barrels where it matures for 48 months.

Bottling: 60 months after the harvest.

Type of soil: calcarous-clayey.

Lifespan: 15-20 years.

Conservation: bottle lying down, protected from temperature variations and light.

Colour: ruby red with deep garnet reflections.

Nose: rich and enveloping. Ripe fruit and floral notes. Spicy ending with nutmeg and pepper.

Taste: warm, vigorous and well-structured. Vanilla and tobacco well blended with the sweet and powerful tannins.

Alcohol percentage: 14-14.5%.

Serving Temperature suggested: 16-18° C.

Food matches: truffle dishes, game, braised beef and aged cheeses.
