Rosso di Montalcino D.O.C. is made from 100% Sangiovese di Montalcino grapes harvested from the Altesino and Castelnuovo dell’Abate vineyards. Rosso di Montalcino is aged in Slavonian oak barrels for around 8 months before going on sale about a year after the harvest. It is a brilliant ruby red colour with a persistent bouquet of fresh fruit and ripe berries. To the palate, the wine is well-balanced, offering flavours of cherry, plum and berry.
